Don’t you just love the feeling of victory?! You feel so alive, free, excited and that sense of overwhelming joy right?
Now I want you to think of the most challenging obstacle you are facing right now. It may be work, school, a family situation, a difficult relationship, a financial burden or maybe you just feel stuck in this moment. Whatever it is…think of that obstacle.
Now do something for me.
Imagine yourself standing healthy and strong. Your current situation may not be what you had anticipated but your spirit is not broken. You are joyful and grateful. Your outfit is stunning and you look amazing from head to toe! Your name is victory!
I have realized over the past several weeks that our response to our obstacles are so much more powerful than the obstacle within itself. Our response holds the power to transform our entire experience. Sometimes my friends, we may not be able to be immediately removed from our obstacles, but we can still walk right through them with a victorious spirit.
I want to encourage you today that if you can guard that beautiful spirit of yours, then you have already won no matter what you may be facing.
Here are a few practical tips I have learned from personal experience to keep your victorious spirit strong!
1. Look at what IS versus what isn’t.
This is my mom’s famous quote and I live by this. It’s so much easier to focus on what is going wrong in our lives or what we don’t have. I have learned when I focus on what I am grateful for, I keep finding more and more of what I am grateful for to the point where I lose count. What we focus on shapes how we feel and respond.
2. Put your “power” clothes on!
Do you have something that you like to wear that makes you feel powerful, as silly as that sounds? It could be as simple as a hat, glasses or pair of shoes. Dress and carry yourself in the way that you want to feel and show up in this world.

3. Look at how far you have come!
Here is a simple exercise to realize how far you have come. Find a baby picture of yourself then a current picture of yourself and place them side by side. Immediately you will see how far you have come physically, emotionally and even spiritually. When you see how far you have come to stand where you are now it will give you an energy boost to take one more step forward.
4. Know the Source of your victory.
I believe that our true victory only comes through Christ. He is the One that gives us the resilience and faith to keep our spirit joyful and strong beyond our understanding to do so.
1 John 5:4 says, "For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith."
