Keep Moving

Welcome 2021!
Like many of you, 2020 was a rollercoaster of emotions for my family. We walked together through uncertainty, loss, new adventures, joys, and many moments of solitude. Through it all, I can say that I have desired like never before to go deeper in my relationship with God and gain more clarity in my purpose.
Each new year, I enjoy reflecting on what I have accomplished and writing down all of my new projects and aspirations. This year instead of having a precise resolution, I decided that I want to just “keep moving.” To keep moving forward with all the attributes it takes to achieve the goals I am pursuing. I want to continue moving with grit, resilience, discipline, compassion and focus. Realizing that living with intention daily in the right mindset and decisions, naturally produces the desired long-term outcome in due season.
I love taking long walks along the Charles River Esplanade as a part of my weekend routine. As I was crossing one of the bridges, something stopped me in my tracks that I had never seen. To my surprise, a smaller section of the river was completely frozen and a duck was caught inside. The duck’s head was frozen beneath the surface of the water as if he was trying to dive in. What was even more shocking is that maybe 30 feet over, the river was freely moving and other ducks were having the time of their lives.

I learned a powerful lesson that day. The cold ice reminds me of the challenges and uncertainty that are often required for us to traverse toward accomplishing our goals. Like the frozen duck, if we don’t keep moving through those challenges, it’s easy to get stuck where we are and never manifest our goals. Our breakthrough and victory is often just a few more feet away, if we just keep moving towards it.
I want to encourage anyone that may have a huge goal that has been on your new year’s resolution list for a long time. KEEP MOVING toward that goal and don’t give up!
Celebrate each step closer you come to making that goal a reality in your life.
Trust and enjoy your journey. Strive for the excellence in your character and daily actions, and I can assure you the rest will follow.
Just keep moving forward!
