Stay Planted

Have you ever planted a mustard seed before?

As many of you many know, the Bible gives reference to the mustard seed as a symbol of faith on several accounts. What is interesting about the mustard seed is that it is such a tiny little seed, however I read that the mustard seed has the potential to grow several feet tall in a short period of time. This potential to grow and spread remains "only potential" unless it is planted.
My mom and I decided we were going to start planting mustard seeds as a tangible example of our faith in God for about a year now. Each seed represents something we are hoping and praying for.
We have learned so many life lessons from the mustard seed. Sometimes they may die and have to be re-planted, direct sunlight provides optimal growth, and the larger they grow they need more support to reach their highest potential.

I was determined to plant more mustard seeds while in Boston. Finding a bag of soil in the city is like looking for a $100 dollar bill in the middle of the street lol. I finally found my soil and began planting my seeds in a little flower pot. For about a week, I saw no action happening! Then one day I noticed the entire top surface of the soil was lifted up and almost lopsided looking. I took a closer look and realized the seeds were growing all along, so much so they had erupted through the top surface of the heavy soil! A pattern of growth I had never seen before.
What are you believing for today friends?
Like the mustard seed, sometimes we may feel as though what we are believing for seems impossible and absolutely nothing exciting is happening.
I want to encourage you that while your faith may seem small, stay planted. It is only in this position of staying planted, that you will see the fullness of the blessing that you are believing for!

(PS: I think I need another flower pot lol)
"...If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." ~Matthew 17:20

Have mustard seed faith!
Love,
Chloe J
