Wear Your Crown

Meet Miss Callie.

This girl is truly a joy to have in my family for about 14 years now. Observing Callie over the years, she has taught me some practical life lessons of “Wearing Your Crown.” Callie has a special way of communicating with our family to let us know when she is hungry, ready to go for a walk, too tired or ready to come into the house to her quiet corner. She briskly runs around to the side of my house, looks through the glass window, then proceeds to hit the door with her paw and repeatedly barks until someone comes to her. Callie knows what she can and cannot handle, she loves us unconditionally and most of all she trusts us to provide everything for her without doubt to the point where she expects it.

Callie plays joyfully wearing her crown each day of her life.

Like Callie, we each have a royal crown graciously given to us by God.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 2:9, “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”

With our crown of grace we can stand confidently knowing we are loved, we are worthy, and we have a beautiful calling to share with the world. We can trust God that each of our gifts has a purpose, no matter how insignificant they may seem. It is up to us to steward and nurture our gifts to manifest our divine potential.

Think of the impact we could have on the world if we each put on our individual crowns and committed our lives not simply to our jobs but ultimately to our calling.
